Perfect Party Eyes.

From top to bottom: The Dolce Vita, The Golden Goddess, The Vintage Vamp.

This time of year is definitely one of my favourite times to spend a little extra time on my makeup and add some sparkle - and I've found my favourite palettes to do this! I wanted to spend a whole post talking about them because they make such lovely festive gifts, with some absolutely beautiful shades to choose from. In this post, I'm going to mention the three palettes that I own, why I chose them, and why they're the best step to perfect party eyes.

The Charlotte Tilbury Eyeshadow Quads were actually my first dip into the brand, with the Dolce Vita palette I purchased two years ago. The colours are incredibly warm toned and beautiful so I found myself reaching for it a lot throughout the winter months. If you love a good cranberry shadow with some chocolate brown to smoke out the crease, this is the perfect palette for you!

More recently, I purchased two more of these gems - the Golden Goddess palette and the Vintage Vamp palette. I like to stick with warm tones, you can probably tell! The quality of these shadows are even across the board, with the sparkle shadow in each quad being the star of the show. It's definitely the kind of palette that you can throw in your bag to intensify your eye look as the day goes on.

There isn't a single shade that wouldn't work for the festive season, which means any of these would make the perfect companion throughout December!

Three Winter Breakfast Ideas.

I've been thinking about making a post like this for months now so I decided to finally take a morning out and put one together - it has three of my favourite go-to breakfast recipes which are relatively healthy and full of protein so that I stay fuller for longer. They're all options I tend to go for in the cooler months, so I've labelled them my winter breakfast favourites. Let me know what you think!

Strawberry & Chocolate Protein Waffles

These are really easy to make, and if you don't have a waffle iron, you can always substitute for pancakes. The recipe requires: 1 cup of vanilla protein powder, 1 cup of all purpose flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, 2 eggs, 1 cup of almond milk, 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and 2 teaspoons of pure maple syrup. Simply combine all the ingredients together until a batter is formed. Pour into a greased waffle iron and cook until golden. Top with fresh cut strawberries, a drizzle of maple syrup (and chocolate shavings if you're feeling naughty).

Feta Scrambled Eggs & Veg

Another super simple recipe (in fact, all of these are - I'm quite lazy when it comes to breakfast!), but these are totally delicious if you love a savoury meal in the morning. All you need is a tablespoon of vegetable oil, 2 eggs, 5 halved cherry tomatoes, 1/4 of a medium white onion (diced), a pinch of seasoning, a sprinkle of feta, a handful of sliced mushrooms and chopped asparagus tips. I like to brown the diced onions in a little oil until they are slightly caramel in colour. Meanwhile, whisk the eggs with your preferred seasoning and feta cheese. Pour over the browned onions and scramble until cooked before setting aside. Spritz a little more oil into the pan and saute the tomatoes, mushrooms and asparagus until cooked. Serve with the scrambled eggs and a side of wholemeal toast.

Super Nutty Granola

This one isn't warm, but it's definitely hearty - and the quickest to make too, especially if you're going for the simple assembly option. You can make your own homemade granola and there are lots of recipes for those out there, but I always like to look for a good sugar free pre-made mix from the grocery store. I love to pair it with cashew milk, a drizzle of honey and a sprinkle of walnuts or pecans for an extra crunch. If I'm feeling something a little sweeter, I'll top it with some chopped strawberries.

The Holiday Lip Edit.

I wanted to write up a lip guide with some really bold, unique, jewel-toned shades for the festive season rather than the traditional red, so I've gone for a trio of vibrant colours that will fit perfectly for the holiday season and add a pop of statement to any party look. Plus, I know I'll be sporting them a lot throughout December!

The first lipstick of the three is the most affordable, and it's for those that love a good red lip with a vintage twist. The Rimmel London Lipstick in Retro Red is the perfect 1920s deep crimson which feels very Gatsby when paired with a golden smoky eye. I love how rich the colour is and the formula of these are incredible - however, definitely pair this one with a liner as things can get a little slippy without a good base. It's very rich on it's own so I like to pair this with a muted blush, if much blush at all - something subtle like Tarte Exposed Blush would work really well with this shade.

For something very deep, dramatic and berry toned, Mac Satin Lipstick in Rebel is a great option for something a bit more vampy for the festive season. I find this to be the perfect bold purple shade that compliments so many skintones from fair to deep. The satin formula means that it's not too drying either which is always a bonus when you're wearing it for long periods of time. It's been a cult favourite for years and it definitely lives up to the hype - definitely a more wearable, yet still statement holiday lip.

If you're more into pinks, a bright pink-red like Charlotte Tilbury's Hot Lips Lipstick in Electric Poppy would be perfect. It's gorgeous with a peachy blush and winged liner, and it feels like a really contemporary twist on the traditional bright pink lipstick. It's probably the most unique choice for the festive season, but it's one that will also really step up my makeup game throughout December - and I love it!

Three For A Festive Glow.

Let's face it... I'm all about glowing all year round but there's something extra special about that lit-from-within complexion that just looks so radiant this time of year. I've discovered quite a few glow boosting products this year, but I wanted to talk about my top three of the moment, for the perfect bronzed glow this season. I'm covering all price points from drugstore to luxe picks, and they're all gems that I'll be using all throughout December.

Starting off with skincare, the Charlotte Tilbury Overnight Bronze & Glow Mask is such a beautiful gradual tan booster that gives a really golden and healthy appearance to the skin. I like to apply a thin layer of this all over my face and neck before bed and then wake up with a beautifully goddess-like glow which is perfect underneath makeup or to wear alone. It's very subtle so don't think 'orange tan' - definitely a very unique product for your skin.

Onto some makeup picks to apply over skincare - both are from the drugstore and are very affordable picks for a beautiful festive glow. The first favourite is the good old Soap & Glory Glow All Out Luminizing Face Powder, which is seriously so much gorgeousness in a pan. I love applying this liberally all over my face for a beautiful luminosity to my skin which is perfect for party season.

My final pick for highlight lovers are the Makeup Revolution Liquid Highlighter Drops - yes, you guessed it - literally molten shimmery elixir for your face! There are so many colour options and I have three from the range. My favourite is definitely Starlight, an opalescent frosted pink that makes cheekbones pop in the light.

So these are my top three - what are your favourites for a festive glow this season?

December Goals.

I didn't write up any goals for last month so there's lots I have planned to achieve for the remainder of the year! Here's what I have planned:

1. Do something new with my hair.
I've been needing a hair trim anyway but I'm thinking of getting a fresh cut too, and maybe adding a little colour in. I've pinned lots of ideas on my Pinterest of styles that I like, and I don't have too many options seeing as my hair is pretty fine, but a nice lob with some caramel highlights might spruce things up for this season!

2. Schedule all my posts for December in advance.
With the festive season here, there's a lot of travelling ahead. From road trips to Toronto and flights back to England, there's a lot crammed into this month, which means planning ahead is crucial. I've already slipped behind on blogging over the past little while but I don't want that to continue into the new year so I've already mapped out a schedule and started photographing content for the weeks to come.

3. Work out at least four times a week.
I keep setting this as a goal and I keep failing to achieve it so I thought I'd make it a smarter goal by adding a number in the mix. I've written up a chart to tick off, and I want December to be as healthy as it can be. Kick starting the new year with some good habits is certainly something I want to achieve and prepping now is would really help me get there!

4. Switch back to healthy eating and working out.
I'm back in England for the start of the new year which is incredibly exciting! My husband has been posted to complete a military course and rather than freezing in snowy Ottawa, I decided to spend a couple of months with my parents in London. I've missed the city so I really can't wait to go back - I'm just worried that I won't want to leave once I remember how much I love living there.

5. Take full advantage of the post-Christmas sales.
I do this every season but I'm so happy that I'll be able to spend the post Christmas season in England again this year - London definitely has some of the best festive experiences and shopping is definitely one of them. I'm keen to pick up a few bargains for the house, some new wardrobe additions for the winter and lots of beauty favourites of course!

What are your goals for December?
I'd love to know!
