June Loves

There hasn’t been a whole lot going on this month in terms of favourites but I thought I’d share a handful of things that I’ve been enjoying this month in a post as usual. I watched Lily Pebbles ‘June Favourites’ video earlier on this month and it did make me think that monthly favourites have become a kind of tradition that bloggers have fallen into – and as much as I love sharing them, it’s not always what you might want to read. Also, lots of monthly favourites posts are posted around the same time, so we all end up getting a months fill of so many different things! Please do let me know if you enjoy reading these sorts of posts in the comments as I’d love to know if I should keep doing them or switch things up a bit.

Anyway, thought rambling over, the first little gem I’ve discovered this month is the Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise in Bette. It’s the most luxurious cream eyeshadow I’ve ever used, with a souffle like texture and incredible pigmentation. It’s very easy to apply (like any cream eyeshadow), it doesn’t crease, gives a gorgeous summer bronze around the eye – not to mention very easy to wear with a little bit of mascara for the perfect daytime look. Speaking of mascara, Charlotte recently launched her Legendary Lashes which I reviewed in full here. Although I’m usually much more of a drugstore mascara kind of gal, I’m obsessed. This one has literally changed my makeup game for good.

I’ve been relying on my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer all of this month. My skin has been wreaking havoc for the past few weeks – it’s got me so upset as everything had been going so well since my course of Roaccutane. I’m still trying to figure out what went wrong and I’m on the hunt for something to fix it, but in the mean time, this concealer has helped hide the damage as much as possible. Also, with the summer months well underway, I’ve become a bit of a gloss girl. My favourite is definitely the NYX Butter Gloss in Tiramisu ever since I saw it on Lily in her Spring Drugstore Makeup Tutorial. I want to get hold of the lipliner she pairs it with as well, it just looks so darn good. It’s not sticky and it lasts quite well for a gloss, I must pick up some more shades. Any recommendations?

There has been a TV favourite this month – none other than The CW’s Reign. I’ve been binge-watching it on Netflix ever since my exams ended and I’m totally hooked. I won’t give any spoilers but I’m all for a historical period drama and this fits the bill perfectly. Lots of eye candy, glitzy costumes and music – not to mention my sudden obsession with Scotland by The Lumineers

In terms of nibbles, I’m in love with this new chocolate, cranberry & pistachio yoghurt bark. It’s such a delicious little snack for when I’m craving something rich and sweet but with a lot less guilt! I posted a recipe all about how to make it earlier on this month – there’s ways to make the recipe vegan too if you’re worried about using yoghurt. The one batch I made for my recipe blog post earlier this month has been seeing me all through June. It’s amazing. Try making it and tweet me photos!
