Seven Shadows For Beautifully Bronzed Eyes

I think my favourite makeup look of all time is definitely a golden bronze eye with a glossy nude lip. There’s something so elegant and chic about how that looks, yet almost goddess like as well. Paired with dewy skin and a strong highlight, I can see it being my go-to makeup choice for the whole of summer! Over the years, I’ve found some real hits and misses when it comes to high performance eye shadows, varying from more natural shimmers to some seriously intense golden glitz. So of course, in today’s post I’m going to share my top seven golden shadows that I’ll be using throughout the holiday season for perfectly bronzed eyes. I’ve got a mix of drugstore and luxury choices, so whatever your budget, I’ve got you covered.

First up is from the high street – in fact, I posted a whole review about how gorgeous this entire range was in this post. The NYX Prismatic Shadows are real gems in my collection, super pigmented and buttery soft without giving too much fallout. The two shades I’ve pictured are Liquid Gold (the perfect pure gold lid shade) and Bedroom Eyes (more dusky and sultry, perfect for a smoky eye). At £5 each, they are super affordable and some of the best wearing eyeshadows that I’ve found.

Another drugstore find has been a cult favourite amongst bloggers for years – it’s the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze. This is my second pot of this. I remember a phase where I literally would not use anything else on my eyes two years ago – this works phenomenally. I know that Maybelline have released a few different formulas of their colour tattoos but nothing has quite beat this one for me. Again, this is £5 and it works a treat, especially if you’re in a rush and need something quick to pop on and go.

Speaking of cream eyeshadows, my favourite luxury find has to be the Charlotte Tilbury (I’m sure something of hers being featured in pretty much every post on my blog recently, she’s just so awesome) Eyes To Mesmerise in Bette. It’s so easy to apply and has a very mousse like texture which blends like a dream. It’s definitely a splurge at £22, but well worth it for the perfect molten gold.

The last three I’ve chosen are all from MAC. I was never really a huge MAC eyeshadow fan but I’ve recently been getting into them. I do think there are better formulas out there when it comes to eyeshadow but the thing with MAC is that their shades are incredibly unique. The three I’ve pictures are Woodwinked, Tempting and Mulch. Aren’t they so gorgeous? The three of them work so well together as a highlight, lid and crease shades to create the perfect bronzed up eye look. You definitely need a bit more time though to blend them really well and the price is a bit steeper with the refill pans being £10 a piece.

From L-R: NYX Bedroom Eyes, MAC Mulch, MAC Tempting, MAC Woodwinked, Maybelline On & On Bronze, Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise in Bette and NYX Liquid Gold.
