Feeling like I’ve had a productive weekend always puts me in a better mood for the week that follows. I wrote a post with my top five tips on how to be productive a couple of months ago, so I thought I’d do a follow up post today with some ideas on what you can do to make this weekend a good one. These are some of this things that I’m planning to spend my weekend doing:
1. Sorting out admin.
I often find that lots of little tasks build up throughout the week and that spending an hour or so at the weekend to get them done instantly helps me feel like I’ve achieved a lot more than I actually have. That feeling spurs me on to tackle the larger goals on my to-do list without feeling too overwhelmed.
2. Trying out a new recipe.
I’ve been browsing Pinterest to my hearts content this week and pinning lots of new recipes that I’d love to try. I’ve been eyeing up this delicious pesto zucchini noodle recipe which I need to try making soon. (Shameless plug: you can follow me on Pinterest here).
3. Giving myself a manicure.
I posted my top picks for perfectly polished nails earlier this week – it’s good to give yourself some TLC and treat yourself to a summer manicure, either at home or at the salon. I know I will be!
4. Reading something new.
Be it a magazine, a new book or blogs, there is so much to read out there. I always feel so inspired after reading new material, so it always counts as being productive in my book (pun wasn’t intended, I promise).
5. Scheduling a shoot day (our couple of hours).
I like to take an hour or two out of my weekend to shoot blog photographs for the week. That means that I only have to make time to write up the blog posts during the week which tends to be a lot busier.
6. Washing my makeup brushes.
I definitely need to do this and it’s going to be one hellava task. I’m bracing myself for wrinkly prune fingers by the time I’m finished tomorrow.
7. Going for a run.
It’s no secret that exercise is always a really good way to boost your productivity. I love to organise a playlist and get moving, even if it’s just for half an hour – it takes my mind off everything for a while and always makes me feel refreshed when I get back to work.
8. Watching some Netflix.
This always makes me feel better and it’s perfect way to unwind at the end of the day. It doesn’t have to be Netflix, just any comfort TV and a cheeky snack for some self lovin’ before bed. I’ve started Suits up again now that I’ve finished Reign. What can I say? I’m a creature of habit.
9. Cleaning out my closet.
This is something I actually did a few weekends ago and it’s something I do seasonally. Having a capsule wardrobe is a recent discovery of mine, and it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to my closet. Taking out one afternoon to organise what you want to keep, throw or donate is super productive, and it can be so much fun too.
10. Treating myself.
Be it a shopping spree (Beauty Bay are having an online sale right now which I keep checking in on), or a facial, or even just a sinfully indulgent dessert, find a way to treat yourself this weekend. Weekends are for resting, so make sure you fit that part of it in!
What are your plans for this weekend?
