It has been far too hot to wear much makeup recently, so I’ve kept it really minimal this month – which means even less beauty favourites than last month! However, saying that, the few beauty bits that I have been reaching for are really great options for the hot weather – they work beautifully at resisting the heat. The rest of my favourites are all lifestyle loves, from fashion to homeware to books – there’s a real mix today!
I’ve featured the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eyeliner on my blog before, but I have been trying it out again this month and I’m in love with it once again. I actually don’t know why I ever stopped using it (I went through a phase of skipping the liquid liner). I don’t really do a wing these days, but I love lining my upper lash line to give my eyes a bit more definition and make them look rounder and larger. This one really does stay all day, so it’s perfect to withstand the heat. And it’s super affordable.
The Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder* has been my saviour against all the humidity this month. It seems to set all my makeup in place for the longest time without looking patchy or powdery. I dust a little on my forehead, nose and chin after I finish my makeup to get rid of any excess shine and lock everything in place. It’s perfect under the eyes too.
I picked up the Tejn White Faux Fur Rug on a recent trip to IKEA and it’s such a beauty. I’m so excited to have this in my uni room – not to mention, it’s absolutely perfect to add a little texture in blog photos! You’ll be seeing this piece on the blog a lot, I’m sure.
I’m totally smitten with the fast emerging Wide Leg Trousers trend, I’ve literally been wearing them all month. I need to buy more! They’re so comfortable, super slimming and very flattering, even on petite people. You can find them everywhere these days but Topshop, New Look and ASOS stock some of my favourites.
I reviewed The Luxe Life by FleurdeForce earlier this month (see here) – it was so good that I had to do a separate review for it! I’m sure if you watch Fleur, you’ll know what I mean when I say her personality is so down-to-earth and lovely – this really does shine through in her writing and makes it such a wonderful read. There are lots of lifestyle aspects that this book touches on, and some lovely beauty bits too. Well worth picking up and looking through even if you don’t watch Fleur – it’s full to the brim with useful advice and gorgeous inspiration.
And that’s it! Short but sweet this month.
What have you been loving throughout August?
