Turning 21

I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned my birthday on my blog before, but I was an August baby. I turn 21 tomorrow, and it’s definitely strange when I think about it – I still feel like a teenager at best! I’ve seen a lot of bloggers do birthday related posts from time to time, so I thought this year I would do one too. I love reading these kinds of posts – and I think it’s a great opportunity to share more personal things with you, my readers. So for today’s post, I thought it would be a fun idea to answer twenty one questions, and share twenty one things that you probably didn’t know about me:

1. Favourite drink?
Something caffeinated, coffee in the morning, tea in the afternoon. I know it’s not necessarily good for me, but it’s never in excess. Nothing beats a tall glass of water if you’re talking cold drinks.

2. Favourite food?
Ugh…but there’s so many! Ok, ok… I love a good sushi restaurant. Probably sushi.

3. How tall are you?
5’2… ok, I’m rounding up. I’m 156cm, so in between 5’1 and 5’2.

4. Why blogging?
I’ve always been a creative person and I first started my blog as a creative outlet to write up and record the things that I loved – but eventually it became something that I loved doing so much that I now blog three times a week!

5. Signature scent?
Alien by Thierry Mugler. I wear it all year round so I’d say that’s my signature scent. It’s one of the most unique fragrances I’ve ever come across. Even the bottle is a little wacky.

6. Biggest insecurity?
My acne. I’ve always had problem skin but recently it has been especially crazy. I keep trying to remember that it’s only temporary but it can be hard.

7. Last time you cried?
I don’t remember specifically, but I know it was recently. And I know it was because of my acne. We all have our low points.

8. Middle name?
I don’t have one!

9. A-Levels?
I studied English Literature, Psychology and Biology at A Level. It’s a weird combination, I know. You can sort of tell I wanted to cover all bases as I hadn’t decided my career path at that point (actually, who am I kidding? I still haven’t figured that out).

10. Go-to outfit?
Jeans and a Breton striped top. Classic and comfortable.

11. Must have makeup item?
Can I pick two? Concealer and mascara. If I’m being specific: the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard, and the Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes Mascara.

12. Favourite Film?
Tangled. If you haven’t seen it, you need to.

13. Favourite TV show?
Oh, but there are loads that I love! If I’m picking a feel-good show though, it has to be Friends.

14. Do you have any siblings?
Yes – I have two younger sisters, Natasha and Siaraa. Natasha is fifteen and Siaraa is eleven.

15. Shoes or bags?
Shoes, definitely. I know it’s not in the question but I have a thing for coats too.

16. Favourite place to shop?
Sephora for makeup and beauty. ASOS for fashion.

17. Last thing you bought?
I just had to check my emails for this one as I’m definitely more of an online shopper! It’s a bit of a weird one but the last thing I bought was this set of copper jars from Paperchase at ASOS – I thought they’d be perfect for my office.

18. Favourite song?
I have lots of favourites, but one that I never get tired of is Young & Beautiful by Lana Del Rey.

19. Last country you visited?
Canada. I have family out there so I end up going there often. I’d love to move there one day, it’s such a beautiful country with lots to see and do.

20. What are you reading these days?
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. It was an early birthday present from Natasha.

21. Do you drive?
Yes. I booked about ten lessons where I practiced the basics with a driving instructor and then I spent hours driving around with my parents to get the hang of it all. It was such a great experience and it’s a really useful skill to have if you don’t already. A great place to start if you’re thinking about learning is definitely Book Learn Pass– your theory, driving lessons and practical test are ready to be booked all in one place! So simple.

What are some interesting facts about you?

I’d love to read them in the comments!
