I’ve had a bit of a camera issue this week so I wasn’t able to photograph my September favourites in time for this post (hopefully this should be sorted by next week). I could have used my phone camera but I just wasn’t satisfied with the ones I took to be honest. This is literally when having your own album of ‘stock’ images comes super in handy! However, I didn’t want to miss a post just because I wasn’t able to take photographs, and the last post of the month is always monthly favourites so the show must go on. Here are my September favourites:
The Alterna Haircare CC Caviar Cream has been softening, smoothing and just all round perfecting my hair so even a bad hair day isn’t so bad. I wrote a full review on it here where I go into depth about the product but I’ve been using it religiously every time I wash my hair, just on the ends. Also, as most of you well know by now, I’ve been suffering with acne for a really long time. Something which has really been helping tone down the severity of breakouts is the Witch Blemish Stick – a stick of witch hazel which works as a natural remedy in breaking down excess oil and bacteria. I’ve been applying every night and it instantly soothes and calms any spots right down, so it’s been a bit of a skin saviour throughout September. I actually just repurchased a fresh tube today.
Makeup wise, I’ve been keeping it simple again this month because of all the breakouts (don’t want to aggravate them now) – but, I’ve been obsessed with the Charlotte Tilbury Film Star Bronze and Glow. It’s incredibly pretty and I’ve definitely mentioned it on my blog before but I’ve been reaching for this A LOT this month, particularly for the gorgeous highlight. I like pairing it with MUFE Copper Pink for a gorgeous no-makeup makeup look which is still fall appropriate.
TV Wise, I think a lot of you will join me in saying that The Great British Bake Off this year is as brilliant as always. I’m incredibly sad about it not being aired by the BBC next year, and of course the absence of Mel, Sue and Mary Berry – I mean, they make GBBO as awesome as it is, so without them it just wouldn’t be the same. I’ve been catching up on GBBO An Extra Slice on iPlayer as well, which makes a lovely bit of Saturday morning TV as I get ready.
You might have seen this earlier this week, but I adore my new CaseApp phone case. It’s so slim and light so my phone feels weightless and I just love the design. I mean, pastel and marble and gold? It’s perfect. I’m actually giving one reader a chance to win a free case which they can design themselves – if you’d like to enter, you’ll need to take a look at this blog post.
Last but by no means least, I have been loving the beginning of autumn. I always have seen seasonal change as a way of starting afresh and autumn is my favourite time to do this. I love the mixed berry hues (even better if they’re in pastry tarts whilst watching GBBO), I love the coloured leaves, I love the breezy air… so autumn is definitely on my loves list!
