February Goals

Wow, January flew by! I always find that February is a bit of a strange month, the motivation from the new year dwindles a bit (but I wrote a post on how I’m going to tackle that here). As I mention in that post, I like setting small goals each month, so here’s what I have planned for February:

1. Make a strong & steady start on my dissertation.

With this term being my last term at university (I can’t believe how quickly three years has gone), I’ve got a lot of hard work ahead of me. I’m aiming high and that comes with a lot of pressure, so I want to make use of the fact that I’m an organised person and get my dissertation underway as early as possible. This means lots of research, lots of reading and a good chunk of writing. I have a presentation coming up as well which is a significant portion of my mark so there’s lot to do.

2. Create some holiday themed content.

Of course one of the first things that usually springs to mind when I think of February is Valentines Day, and although that’s very special when you have loved ones, I’m going to focus a lot on self-love as well. I have some ideas for the kind of posts I’ll be putting up around then so keep an eye out for them and make sure you’re following me on Bloglovin’ so you know when they’re up! If you have any posts you’d like to see, please feel free to comment down below and let me know.

3. Meal plan every week.
I’m trying to make this one as measurable as possible here. I want to use Sunday evenings to plan out my meals so that I’m not caught out with nothing cooked one night. That often results in Dominos and I really want to quit the habit of ordering food in. I have a meal planner stuck to my fridge, I just need to get into the habit of using it more and sticking to it once I’ve written something down. Meal prepping also comes into this goal, I’m going to cook in advance and put food in containers so I have something to eat for when I’m too tired to cook after a day of working.

4. Incorporate some form of physical activity into my day.
I have been trying really hard to get more active and this month I’m going to try and get my heart rate up every single day. Even if it’s just for a short while. I love how I feel after a bit of exercise, it really gets me motivated to work harder and get more done. This, paired with the meal planning, should hopefully result in a very healthy month. Let’s hope I can stick to it!

5. Save some money.
I’ve been spending a lot recently. I know I have a lot of beauty related bits on the way which I will be posting about throughout February so I’m going to go on a bit of a spending ban this month and give my bank balance some time to rest! I wrote a post last year of staying financially fit whilst at university, let me know if you’d like an updated one. I can always write one that can apply to anyone (not just students) because there’s lots of tips and tricks I’ve learnt to help save up!

What are your goals for February?
