So this is a little bit of news I thought it was about time I shared – I’m engaged! I just want to take a minute to thank you all for the sweet messages and comments on my Instagram post earlier this week. It’s actually been quite a while since the proposal, but I’ve kept everything a secret from my blog and social media for several reasons. Firstly, I wanted to enjoy the exciting part of being engaged for as long as possible. Now that the wedding planning is well underway and the date is set (very soon approaching), the excitement has turned into a bit of a stress! Secondly, my ring had to be sent off for a resize and then another resize (turns out my fingers are smaller than I thought), and it’s taken a while to get it back – I only got it back two days ago. I love it – it feels very art deco and right up my street. So so beautiful.
Up until last week, I was still trying to finish up my dissertation before handing it in, so my mum has been a massive support with all things preparation. I honestly don’t know what I’d do without her, but she’s working tirelessly to help me have the perfect wedding. There’s still so much to sort out and ends to tie up/confirm – as my mum puts it, we’ve thrown lots of skittles up in the air and now it’s time to catch them all! The reason why we decided to set the date so soon was simply for the ease of starting fresh – I graduate this July and having a summer wedding allows me to move and find a job near my new home.
That brings me onto where that will be. I’m actually moving abroad to Canada – and I already know I’m going to miss London so much! I’ve grown up in the hustle bustle of a busy city, and I know I’m headed for lots of huge changes. This year is definitely going to be a hectic one… but then again, I guess I knew that before it even began. I’m not planning on doing lots of wedding related content up on my blog, and I intend to keep things quite private in that regard, but there might be a couple of posts here or there. Of course, I’m really excited and I want to try my hardest to enjoy the next couple of months and make the most of it.
Let me know what you’d like to see on the blog, I would love to have your input for summer content – I already have quite a few ideas and mini projects lined up but I’m always searching for more!
So… that’s my little (big) life update!
Lots of love to you all,
