Best Beauty Buys of 2017.

It’s been nice to take a little break over the past week whilst I gear up for the new year and spend a little in the sales! I have the last couple of posts of 2017 planned out, and today’s is focused on all of my favourite finds from the year. I’ve seen lots of these posts around and I love the idea of sharing some beauty gems that I’ve discovered and letting you know about them. Here they are:

The Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser is probably no surprise – it’s a gorgeous cleanser that I’ve been using every single day since I got it! I love to use it as a morning cleanser, because it’s light and moisturizing – just all round lovely to use. I pair it with a few drops of the Glossier Super Bounce Serum which is great as an under-moisturiser serum, giving the perfect base to absorb other products better whilst also providing an extra boost of hydration.

For night creams, I’ve been all about the Antipodes Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream which I fell in love with at the start of the year. I’ve recently gone back to it because it’s really rich and gorgeous this time of year. I was kindly sent the Pixi by Petra Lip Polish* in the summer and I started using it this month. It’s a lovely nourishing lip oil that exfoliates dry skin and leaves my lips feeling silky smooth. It’s also wonderful as an overnight lip treatment.

Moving onto makeup must-haves, I’ve found the best affordable primer from The Ordinary – their High Adherence Silicone Primer is smooth and hydrating, and it keeps my makeup in place for hours and hours. My foundation favourite has been the L’oreal True Match Foundation. I have loved my trusty Nars Sheer Glow, but this is a great affordable alternative that I highly recommend. It has buildable coverage and gives a really beautiful dewy glow which I’ve loved throughout the summer months.

I dabbled with brow products in the summer and found my love for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer. I have mine in the shade Dark Brown and it’s the perfect pencil for quick and easy (yet defined)) eyebrows. For eyes, the Tartelette in Bloom Eyeshadow Palette is my palette of the year, with some seriously buttery neutrals that steal the show. It’s a palette where I’ve used every single shade, so I know it’s a winner, and when paired with the Topshop Magic Liner, I’ve been achieving the perfect simple eye look time after time. I’ve been applying the shadows with my new Zoeva Rose Gold Eye Collection, as these are the best affordable brushes I’ve found for most makeup purposes.

For mascara, the Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes is a gorgeous clumpy lash mascara that instantly transforms my lashes. It’s definitely more of an evening lash look with a gorgeous volumised finish, and the formula itself is very conditioning for lash hairs.

Of course I had to mention my favourite highlight of the year and the Topshop Glow Drops in Pheonix are a clear favourite. I’ve used them non stop for a molten golden glow across my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose. I love them! I like to pair these drops with the Estee Edit Blush in Purr Pink – I know this little number is (sadly) discontinued but I bought it just before they went out of stock and I fell in love with the formula.

For powder, I finally tried the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Finish Powder earlier this year. It’s so finely milled and perfectly pressed, so it makes the ideal handbag companion for any shine issues throughout the day. I find that it doesn’t cake or settle in fine lines, so it’s a win-win for me. Lipstick favourites are the Charlotte Tilbury Lipsticks in Very Victoria and Pillow Talk – two stunning nude lipstick shades that I’ve been wearing non-stop all year round. They are both more matte finishes but they feel rich and comfortable to wear.

A couple of miscellaneous beauty picks – the OUAI Texturising Hair Spray is a more recent try but I already know that I need the full size in my life! I love how much volume it gives as well as much needed texture to my hair. It instantly refreshes and spruces up so I’m never having a bad hair day. My fragrance favourite has to be my wedding perfume – the classic Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede. It’s often referred to as the perfect bridal scent, but it really did make me feel so special on my big day. The fragrance itself is fruity and fresh, floral and flirty all at the same time.
