For the last post of this year, I thought I would share some of my highlights from 2017. Here are some of my favourite moments from the past twelve months:
This was a huge milestone from this year and my life in general. I loved being at university and finishing my degree, and finally holding a certificate with it all in writing was the icing on the top. I’m the first degree holder in my entire family so it meant a lot that I got there, and was able to achieve what I did. I’ll always remember my years in Exeter fondly.
Another huge life event, straight after graduation! I didn’t really disclose much about the wedding at the time, because there really wasn’t much to it. The timing fit perfectly, because as I graduated, I knew I was ready for a change and moving across the world was the perfect way to forward. The wedding was wonderful too, very classy and elegant, the perfect evening and a memory that I’ll always treasure.
Moving to Canada.
Despite knowing that this was where I was going to end up for some time, I don’t think I was nearly as prepared for the change as I should have been! However, it’s been such a whirlwind and an amazing experience that has taught me so much. Moving is never easy, and I’m still waiting on paperwork to be finalized, but it’s so exciting all the same. Canada is a beautiful country, and I love being able to call it home.
The road trip.
This was one of the most exciting weeks of my life, living out of a bag and road-tripping across the whole of Canada in just ten days. I saw so much, loved so much of it, and discovered a lot on the way. The mountains were absolutely breathtaking, as were the lush countrysides and never-ending roads. With music blaring and driving for miles without anyone around, it was another special memory that will always be close to my heart.
Buying our first home.
When I think about it, I’m really fortunate with the way things have turned out. I didn’t think I’d be able to become a home-owner so soon in life, but the move, getting married and life experience in general allowed it to happen. I’m now lucky enough to be living in a beautiful home where I can settle down and start the next stage of my life. I can’t wait to share what next year has to bring.
Lots of love,
