March really flew by, and I’m so glad it did because it was pretty miserable. I’m so glad that the weather is finally warming up and that the snow is melting – it’s about time! Other than my blogging goals, I have a handful of random lifestyle goals that I’ve set myself for this month and so I’ve rounded them all up into my regular monthly goals post! Here’s what I have planned for April:
1. Do the IKEA trip.
This one is one that has been long in the works but I just haven’t got around to it yet which is crazy because it’s been six months since we moved! I have a list, I have a plan, and now I just need to go and get it all. It’s mostly little things that I need for the kitchen and bathroom, but I am looking for a couple of other pieces too that I may or may not like in person, we shall have to see. Either way, I’m sure I’ll be sharing it all with you on the blog once I find what I’m looking for.
2. Visit more places downtown.
Now that the weather is warming up a little, it’s a lot easier to go outside and enjoy some of the pretty places to visit in Ottawa. I can’t wait to have a good look around the city, whether visiting the famous Byward Market, the Parliment Building, and of course – some of the gorgeous bakeries and cafes around town! There’s a flower market that I’ve been meaning to visit, and the Rideau Canal is such a lovely place to walk and enjoy a picnic in the sunshine.
3. Practice cooking healthier meals.
I’ve been leaning on quick food lately because I’ve been cooking just for one whilst my husband was away on his military course (I get so lazy when it’s just me, I really shouldn’t but I know I do). Now that he’s back, I definitely want to take the opportunity to practice cooking some more green and colourful meals. I’ve just got into making zucchini noodles and I’m so into it, it’s such an amazing substitute for noodles and pasta! If any of you have some other healthy recipes then please do share them with me – I’d love to get some more inspiration.
4. Get a facial.
I’m actually lucky enough to be working with a spa later this month, and I get to enjoy a gorgeous facial tailored to my skin type. I’m super excited as it’s been a while since I last has one! I’m definitely going to be using this month to take better care of my skin now that I have a routine that works for me, especially with the summer months coming around and lighter makeup days.
