My In-Flight Beauty Essentials.

My In-Flight Beauty Essentials.

Air travel can be fun, but it can definitely take it’s toll on your skin! Over the years, I’ve managed to create a routine that works for me – I generally fly long haul, and I already suffer from dry skin, so I really need a routine that involves as much hydration as possible. With a long haul flight booked for next week, I thought I’d share some of the beauty essentials I’ll be taking with me to keep my skin feeling fresh and happy all throughout the journey, as well as a couple of makeup essentials to help me feel put together on the other end.

I generally keep makeup super light on my way to the airport and whilst boarding the plane so that it’s easy to take it all off once the flight is well underway I have been loving the Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask ever since I purchased it last month – it’s the perfect travel companion for long haul flights. My skin gets incredibly dry while flying and this mask is perfect for quenching thirsty skin and locking in moisture. I like to apply it all over my face and let it sink in while I sleep – it appears a little shiny but it’s otherwise untraceable as a mask (which is perfect if you don’t want to be sporting the full on sheet mask look on the plane!).

World Duty Free also offers some amazing treats for your skin, and I’ve found the perfect kit to take with me for when I fly back to Canada. The SK-II Pitera Essence Kit* comes with three gorgeous skincare essentials. I’ve been loving the Facial Treatment Clear Lotion* for gently exfoliating my skin before a mask like the Summer Fridays one, and the Facial Treatment Essence* is perfect as a post-mask product to keep all the moisture locked in during the flight.

For dry lips, I’m in love with the latest limited edition launch from Fresh Beauty – the Lemon Hydrating Lip Balm* is my new lip balm love! I’ve loved Fresh Beauty for a while now – their products are always so gentle and nourishing, with the lip balms being some of my favourites for super soft lips. This new scent smells like lemon meringue pie – so delicious and summery! Totally obsessed – I’ve got my eyes on the salted caramel one next.

When there’s about an hour left of the flight, I like to prep my skin for a little makeup with the Charlotte Tilbury Brightening Youth Glow*. It adds a little brightness and radiance to my skin after such a long flight, which looks great underneath makeup or on its own. It has a blurring effect and gives a gorgeous luminosity that works beautifully with all of my favourite foundations. It’s become such a staple in my makeup bag – I always find that I’m reaching for it, even on makeup free days!

The It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream* has been a new discovery of mine and I’m converted – I love how high the coverage is without it feeling weighty on my skin. It doesn’t cake, it just seems to glide on effortlessly and I’ve found that I don’t really need anything else! The formula wears really well throughout the day and it doesn’t slide off in the heat. It’s perfect for looking and feeling put together with minimal effort, and so I’m definitely packing this in my makeup bag to pop on just before I get off the plane.

I have a little stash of travel sized goodies that I keep on hand and this summer I picked out the Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara to take with me on my travels! I had never tried a mascara from Bobbi Brown before this one and I have to say, I’m thoroughly impressed. It lengthens and separates the lashes, whilst adding a lot of volume and a darkening the lash line to make your eyes instantly appear smokier and gorgeous! I’ve always loved the BB skincare ranges, but I’m now intrigued by all the beautiful makeup the brand has to offer. Let me know if you have any recommendations in the comments!
