I’m a bit of a skincare addict and my skincare cabinet is definitely spilling with all sorts of lotions, potions and miracle workers – but on the weekend I’ve narrowed it down to a handful of products to give me the healthiest winter glow without reaching for a lot of highlighter…
The Fresh Beauty Soy Face Cleanser* is a newer addition to my routine but I remember trying it once years ago and not thinking much of it. I can’t believe I ever thought that though, because ever since I started using this last month, I can’t seem to switch back to my old morning cleansers. I love how refreshing this feels on the skin first thing in the morning, and it provides the perfect canvas to follow with the rest of my skincare routine. I absolutely love this jumbo size with the pretty packaging too, and although this might be a frivolous point – it’s such a pleasant product to look at first thing!
I love following up with my once-a-week Pixi Peel & Polish Facial Exfoliater*. This is probably the best facial exfoliater I’ve ever used, so much so that it’s the only one I’ve kept. It has a very fine but dense grit to it, but it doesn’t feel harsh on the skin. I work this in to slough off any dead skin cells and reveal a natural radiance underneath. I’d definitely count this as one of the miracle workers in my skincare cabinet because the results are instant with this one – and if I had to recommend one product from this whole blog post, this would be it.
Onto the topical skincare: I’ve been reaching for the Glossier Super Glow Serum recently, more-so to finish it off – I have to admit, I prefer the other Supers over this one. My favourite is definitely Super Bounce, and I’ve even repurchased that one several times, but this one isn’t my favourite serum for a good glow in the morning. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not bad, but I think there are better serums out there. I find the formula of this one too liquidy and difficult to apply, so I’m finishing off the last of it this month and moving on to something different.
My moisturiser of choice has been the Charlotte Tilbury Unisex Healthy Glow – it’s not thick so it doesn’t appear greasy or need time to sink in. The formula sinks right in and adds a beautiful luminescence without drawing attention to any imperfections. It’s very subtle – it’s not full of shimmer or glitter. Just a natural ‘healthy glow’, just as the name suggests. I should add, I’m not a huge fan of the scent of this one, but it goes away almost instantly so that’s not too much of an issue for me.
The final step is taking care of dry lips and if you’ve been following my blog for a while, you’ll know there’s nothing quite like my love for the Dior Lip Glow. My favourite shade is the coral shade because there’s something so warm about it, and it’s moisturising without being sticky. There is a little tingle because of the added collagen plumping effect, but if you don’t mind that then I’d highly recommend this as an everyday lip balm.
