One week into the new year and I’m back at it… after a bit of a rough end to 2018, I’m looking forward to a fresh start and some new goals to work towards. I usually post them on the first day of the year but I was bed-ridden with a very nasty flu over the Christmas period, and then travelling over the New Year. So… here are my resolutions – a little late, but they’re finally up!
1. Do more of what makes me happy.
I’ve got an awful habit of stressing too much and that’s something I’ve always struggled with. I really want this year to be one where I focus on doing more of what makes me happy so that I can manage my stress a little better. I know I love blogging, so I’ll definitely be doing lots of that. I love reading and I want to include more of that in my life too. There’s so much I want to try and I think the new year is the perfect opportunity to push myself and start saying yes.
2. Start my career.
A very personal goal but it’s taking ages for my work permit application to be processed here in Canada, and this has definitely taken a toll on my mental health. I’m hoping to receive it within the next month or so and finally be able to look for a job so that things can get back on track. I don’t like to focus on negativity on my blog so I’m trying my hardest to stay optimistic – let’s hope 2019 brings lots of good things my way!
3. Finally master the art of meal-prep.
I love watching Anna and how well she manages to organise her life, especially her ability to meal prep! I recently won a copy of her new book An Edited Life and I’m very excited to incorporate her advice to improve my approach to planning and organising several different aspects of life. A major one is being able to meal-prep – I’ve tried many times last year but I was never able to make it stick, and I really want to try harder at it in the coming months. It’s a brilliant trick to staying on track both health wise and budget wise, so this one is super important to me.
4. Post more interiors content.
Both on my Instagram and my blog. I recently posted a couple of photos that were extremely well received and my engagement rocketed over the weekend – I’m so glad that interiors is so liked because I love talking about everything home-related and taking pretty photos of different corners of my house. I want to try and do more of this – I was always worried that eventually I’d run out of things to photograph but I think if I keep re-jigging the pieces that I already have, I’ll be able to keep the content fresh for those of you that like home style inspiration!
What are your goals for 2019?
