My Minimal Makeup Routine.

My Minimal Makeup Routine.

With it being a fresh start and the month of January, my skin needs it’s chance to breathe and recoup after wearing heavier makeup throughout the holiday period… so today I thought I’d share my minimal makeup routine that I’ve been wearing on days when I want to look a little more polished and don’t want to go makeup-free.

For my base makeup, I usually stick with what I know works, and recently it’s been the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser and Radiant Creamy Concealer together. I like keeping things light for the most part (obvs. this is a minimal makeup routine after all), but for the areas that need more coverage, the concealer does a wonderful job without adding any weight to my skin.

I recently discovered Lilah Beauty, a gorgeously minimal makeup brand with incredibly distinct pebble-shaped packaging. I was very kindly sent a few bits to try and I’ve been using them a lot over the past couple of weeks – and they certainly live up to the hype. The Lilah B Palette Perfection Eye Quad* in b. stunning contains four beautiful neutral shades for a soft, smoky brown eyeshadow look. There are two shimmery shades and two matte shades that compliment each other perfectly – I even smudge a little of the darkest colour using an angled brush to add a little definition to my lashline without having to spend time on eyeliner.

New to my mascara collection, I was very kindly sent the IT Cosmetics Superhero Mascara* to try at the end of last year and I think it’s become one of my absolute favourite mascaras EVER. It seems to do everything in seconds… volume (check), length (check), definition (check)… lasting power (check). Such a holy grail mascara for me now – I always find myself reaching for it in the mornings ever since I first gave it a whirl.

I can’t believe it took me this long to try the cloud paints! I recently bought the Glossier Cloud Paint in Dusk and I absolutely love how it applies. The shade is gorgeous – a wonderfully warm nude-peach that would suit pretty much every skin tone. You can build up the intensity too, and I always seem to love to go for a little extra because it gives such a lovely flush of colour to the skin.

To make my skin look extra dewy, I’ve been using the Lilah B Glisten & Glow Cream Highlighter* for a subtle shine on the high points of my face. I love how this pairs with the Glossier blush, and ever since last summer, I’m a total cream-product convert. Lilah B offers such a beautiful range of cream products too, I’d recommend their Divine Lip & Cheek Duo* too if you’re looking for an alternative shade of cream blush.

I won’t spend too long talking about the Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick in Pillow Talk*, because I’ve talked about it so much over the past couple of years. I still wear it most days, and I’m on my second tube – it’s honestly the most perfect your-lips-but-better shade for me so I can’t be without it!
