A Spring Makeup Reshuffle.

A Spring Makeup Reshuffle.

So with the change in season, I’ve been playing around with my go-to makeup picks lately and reshuffled them a bit to try out something new – only in this case, I’ve done it on a budget and just shopped my stash! I love the feeling of re-discovering an old gem, so here are some that I’ve found over the past few weeks…

I was reaching for the Estee Lauder Illuminator Primer a lot around September last year, but then I found that winter required something a little more heavy duty because the cold was so much harsher. However, now that the weather is warming up and I’m all about lighter bases, the touch of illumination and radiance is right up my alley when paired with a tinted moisturiser. Definitely glad to be reaching for this one again!

I’ve been really into the simple eye but bold lip look lately and the Bobbi Brown Shadow Stick in Soft Peach has been helping me a whole lot! I find that it’s always best to at-least apply a little primer to the eyes, even when you’re going for a natural look, just to keep it in tone with the rest of your base and smooth it all out. This eyeshadow stick is the perfect flesh tone that cancels out any redness and keeps everything looking seamless. It also (magically) makes my mascara appear darker and bolder because it’s such a dreamy base!

I don’t really talk that much about drugstore favourites but who remembers when the Bourjois Java Rice Powder was all the hype? I’m so glad I found it again and gave it a go because it really is such a good un. The powder itself is very lightweight, velvety soft and it doesn’t cling to the drier parts of my face – I like to use it to set my concealer and prevent any shine from building up and it does that without feeling like an extra layer.

I haven’t really re-discovered the YSL Plump-in-Shine Lipsticks* per say… rather, I’ve been totally smitten with them ever since they landed in my mailbox two months ago! The formula is the perfect sheer-but-buildable balm that works wonderfully as a day time wash of colour into an evening intense glossy lip. I’ve been dabbling with wearing a little more orange-y tones when it comes to the warmer seasons and the shade Delirious Orange from the range definitely fits the bill.

Moving onto something more pigmented and less glossy, the Bobbi Brown Crushed Colour Lipstick in Cabana makes for the perfect Spring coral-red. It’s another buildable one and the formula is just as dreamy. I think Bobbi Brown are definitely a note-worthy brand when it comes to finding the perfect lipstick… their shade range and pigmentation is second to none.

I’ve fallen back in love with Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Nectar* now that Spring is here! I will always have found memories of this scent because the launch was my first ever blogger event in London – and I’m such a huge fan of the original Flowerbomb too. This one is a bit sweeter with fruitier notes, which makes it the perfect daytime floral scent and I’ve been reaching for it more and more on brighter days. The fragrance lingers all day and is one of the most long-lasting perfumes that I own… the bottle is absolutely gorgeous too, which is always a bonus!

What have been your Spring beauty picks lately?
