If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I’m a huge fragrance hoarder and I have a little bit of a collection that I’ve managed to accumulate over time. There’s something so mesmerizing about a pretty glass bottle filled with gorgeous scents and they look so elegant sitting all together on my dresser! With the new season well underway, I thought I’d take you through a handful of my favourites that I’ve been reaching for on sunnier days… I love anything floral so all of these are pretty feminine and girly, but there are a couple of fruitier ones in the mix too.
I’ve spoken in depth about my ever expanding Jo Malone collection in the past (I’ll link that blog post here), but I thought I’d include a couple of JM colognes because I reach for them even more every time Spring rolls around. The first is my first ever splurge into the brand, with Jo Malone’s English Pear & Freesia scent. This one is probably one of my all time favourite perfumes to wear any time of year, and it would be my pick if I could only wear one fragrance for the rest of time.
Saying that, I do have a soft spot for Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede because this was the scent I wore on my wedding day. It’s such a fresh spring scent and probably one of the more popular ones from the brand – I love how many memories it evokes for me so I always pull this one out on date night or special days throughout the Spring.
My everyday go-to for the last few weeks has been Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Nectar* – another perfume with lovely memories attached to it because the launch of this scent was my first ever blogging event! I adore the original Flowerbomb but this one is even better – it’s sweeter, fruitier and very crisp. The fragrance lingers for hours just like the rest of the Flowerbomb line – definitely a v. important factor when splashing out on a new perfume!
My last pick is probably the most aesthetically pleasing one – I knew I needed Gucci Bloom as soon as it launched a couple of years ago! It was a quick before-flight World Duty Free splurge and I’m so happy it smells as good as it looks. This one is the strongest floral scent from the four I’ve mentioned, with prominent notes of jasmine. I feel like I’m walking through country gardens when I wear this, and it’s one I know I’ll be reaching for more and more throughout the summertime too!
