August Goals.

August Goals.

It’s officially my birthday month, and so possibly my favourite month of the year! Some of you may have noticed that I took a bit of a digital break over the past few weeks because I think it was a long time coming – I needed to gather new content ideas and recharge, and my family came to visit from England, so it was lovely to take that time and spend it with them. I’ve also been a busy little bee when it comes to all things work-related, still trying to find the perfect fit in the job world… but I have a good feeling that something special will come soon enough. Here’s what I’ve got lined up for the next few weeks of summer:

Renovate my shower… this one is something super exciting because I’m very excited to be working with Rustoleum on a mini shower renovation project this month! I wanted to transform my eighties beige floral shower tiles into something more modern and chic, and so I have the perfect budget-friendly reno that I can’t wait to share with you all in a separate post this month. It’s not the easiest project, but the results promise to be worth it, so I’m very much looking forward to getting this done.

Brunching…  probably not what most of us would consider a goal but I really want to try some more cafes and coffee shops about town and I feel as though brunch with friends is the perfect way to do this. I recently found a couple of new Ottawa coffee shops that are absolutely gorgeous spots for a bite to eat and a quiet place to get some work done, and I definitely want to find more gems like these!

Try out some summer recipes… I feel like I always get stuck in a bit of a cooking rut each season and I was thinking it might be nice to try a few new dishes this month to get me out of it. I recently picked up a copy of The Roasting Tin which has dozens of absolutely delicious looking recipes that are super simple and easy to prepare. I’m thinking it’ll be a good way to incorporate more veg into my diet too, because I’m definitely lacking in that department (I’m ashamed to admit).

Enjoy the last few days of 23… I feel like the past year has just flown by, but I also think I’ll say that every year much like most of us do. I can’t believe 24 is just around the corner and I’m really hoping for a year packed with more wonderful memories, opportunities and exciting things, much like the past few years have been. I haven’t really got anything planned for the day itself, but I’m sure I’ll be updating social if any surprises come my way!

What are your goals for August?
